Why hasn't the DM and his protege reviewed? Maybe it's a good thing she hasn't scene it.
The phrase the kept coming to my mind as I watched it was Wildly Inapropriate For Kids. Sure it was a cartoon, but there was talk about adultery, pissing in bottles, less than cartoony violence. It just went on and on. Plus, to younger kids, it must have been really frightening.
The premise of the film is what happens when the scary house on the street really is demonic. It eats toys and bicycles and balls and policeman.
The story wasn't half bad. The animation was motion capture which bugs me. It's always fun to play guess the famous voice behind the cartoon. Kathleen Turner is grossly underused.
But Spielberg loved it. It said so in the trailers. It also had his name listed in the credits. Conflict of Interest?
