We are up to season 4. I can't find reviews I've done of earlier seasons. But the shows are well done but kind of hit or miss. For instance, after watching one or two episodes of Season 3 which starred Ewan McGregor in twin roles, I grew bored.
But the thought of Chris Rock as a gangster in 1950s Kansas City, MO intrigued me. Sadly, he is the weakest part of a so far strong addition to this chapter. The first episode was very strong. Lots of good visuals. With narration by a teenage African-American girl. Although what she is describing has nothing to do with the visuals on screen. The whole movie centers around the fight for control of he underworld in Kansas City. First it's the Jews vs. the Irish. Then the Irish vs. The Italians. Finally The Italians vs. The African-Americans. It's all well done. There are a lot of characters to introduce and the film makers do it well.
Despite the tension between the gangs, there is lots of rivalries in the family as well as older son vies with younger son for power. Lots of tension. Lots of good acting.
And there is the nurse floating around it all who is crazy.
Two episodes in so far. We will watch more.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
