Night at the Museum
#1
Well sure, we could have gone to see Apocolypto or The Good Shepherd or something a bit more weighty and/or perhaps artistically or socially meaningful but dang it, it's the holidays, and I don't want something that's good for me, I want junk food!

Night at the Museum was like a meal of Slim Jims, salted peanuts and a Twinkie for dessert. Of *course* it's silly and predictable and exactly what you thought it was based on the trailer but for the most part, it was entertaining silly and predictable. Ben Stillter scared me a little because I could always see the whites of his eyes, the dialog they gave Mickey Rooney was pretty stupid (and I wonder if he was making it up as he went along) and I think the role they gave Paul Rudd was a total waste of his talent and time, but I think Ricky Gervais's character's inability to finish a sentence was brilliant, and I really enjoyed watching the museum stuff be alive, especially the jade dog and the Romans fighting the cowboys.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
