Why do I still bother. I haven't thought a Bond film has capture his essence since, well you know, . .
Which begs the question: Why do I still bother?
Because, maybe, just maybe, if I'm good and I floss, the good thing will happen. And I do floss and it did happen. Casino Royale was a good film. Granted they updated the story to reflect our times and they lost Baccarat to No Limit Hold'em, but it didn't bother me so much. they even kept some of the elements of the original story. How odd. Some of Flemings work actually making it up onto the big screen.
Daniel Craig makes a great bond. He's buff and tough and can dish it out with the best of them. The opening action sequence was fantabulous. Totally unbelievable but great.
It bogs down towards the end as they strive to tell the story and they don't have many places left to go. But bless their little hearts for a bit of honest to goodness storytelling. When was the last time they tried that in a Bond film. The Villian, LeChiffre even had a motivation besides being the guy in the credits listed under villain.
Yes, there were cool lines. Yes, there was product placement (Strangely, I long now for a SonyErricson phone) There was even some self deprecating humour with a nod to the previous Bond films.
Go see it instead of getting shot trying to buy the new Playstation3
