We are slowly settling into the new space. There's still major construction going on with the kitchen and bathrooms on the TC side so everyone has to make the trek back to TC Media to drink or eliminate. I drink gallons of tea - top shelf Chinese teas mostly - so I'm walking back and forth all day. I try to pick something up and bring it over each time.
It's a lot noisier on this side, but more social, which is pleasant. On the whole, the TC crew is alright. The Chinese phone operators are just getting to know me and appreciate that I drink Chinese tea. The Korean seamstresses - you know, I've worked with them for 20 years and have barely spoken a word to them.
Our warehouse lead, the one who lost 8 family members, continues on a downward spiral. This morning he discovered that his truck had been pilfered after a tournament he worked last weekend. It was parked by his home in San Jose. They got the profits (not much, like $200), the registration, cleaned out his glove compartments but no damage to the truck. The hard part is that he had left his recently completed tax forms and his passport there, and they got that too.
The second-in-command in our warehouse, Kevin, the brother of the Manny that joined us for Bruce Lee night so long ago, one of his good friends is about to lose his daughter to cancer. I don't know all the details - he told me a lot but I've been too self-centered on my own drama to remember. He's been collecting shoes for some sort of fundraiser for the funeral.
Patrick must now leave Milo, his huge hound, at home. One of the senior employees here at TC (in the bloodline) is full-on phobic of any animal. She used to freak out at Baihu, the cross-eyed cat we had adopted for a while. Additionally, another employee has allergy issues. There's not much room for Milo anyway. So Pat's gf Lea, who is a tiny gal, took Milo on his daily constitutional this Monday morning. And he slew a faun. Milo is super mellow when he used to hang out on TC Media's side - a real sweet dog - but he's husky/wolf/monster so when he gets it in his mind to hunt, blood will spill. He has a record of catching squirrels, but this was his first deer. He's a gorgeous white dog, and Lea she he was covered in deer blood. She felt really bad about it - this was her first walkie with Milo like this.
I'll be so happy when the construction is done and I don't have to walk the whole fuckin warehouse for tea refreshers and to pee.
