Shirley’s funeral is today in our old hood, the Colma necropolis. As she was such a deadhead, attire is informal, but I always put on a dress jacket for funeral chapels. Besides, they’d question leaving work early if i don’t look the role. I broke out my Fare the Well pin from Chicago, which has been on my altar since that fateful journey.
I don’t plan to stay long and will head home as soon as services are done. Today is Tara’s last day of winter break - she heads back to SD early tomorrow and it is making me even more sad.
