Cottonpickin' Chickenpickers (1967) by Larry E Jackson
#2
Did they play ‘Baby it’s cold outside’?

My dad’s favorite cuss word was cottonpicker. To this day, I don’t know if he knew the racist underpinnings. There was another term - the equivalent of the n-word - used in Hawaiian pidgen, but I cant remember it now. My gramps used it to keep black soldiers in line in WWII. My gramps was hella racist. Being a colonel in the US army of an all Japanese battalion, he was the recipient of racism throughout his military career.
