Anchor held a wonderful Celebration of Life for Tom just now. Probably the last time I’ll set foot in the hallowed halls of that brewery. They opened up a nice tap room across the street last October. I would’ve loved that if I still drank beer. Maybe 200 showed up, many from RM, including his family. Raz spoke but told a story that wasn’t quite right and mumbled into the mic, so I spoke. I think it was a trick to get me to speak. I retold the story of how we met, of the first anchor tour for rm, and of how grateful we were to him. So many good stories were shared. The brewery supplied an excellent spread of finger foods. It was really nice. I only had one beer in his honor - my ol’ go to, a porter. I thought I might run out of laminates. I gave them to RMers, the family, the manager of the Chris Robinson band, and anyone who asked. I still have a few. They were well received.
I was given a bottle of anchorage gin, a Jerry Garcia bobble head, and this odd steel-tipped rubber mini-whip that is either a weapon or a sex toy - I can’t tell. Yeah, that was from Brother Dan.
