In Nepal, honey hunters make dangerous vertical climbs—while enduring stings from enormous bees—to harvest “mad honey”. The honey, slightly bitter and reddish in color, has a hallucinogenic punch from bees that fed on the pollen of a specific type of rhododendron flowers.
