Russ was my hero.
I met him a few times but never got to 'talk' with him.
Tower's downfall was directly related to Russ's success in the 60's.
Russ's vision of the popularity of L.P.s and rock music opened the door for record stores in general.
When MP3s and Napster reared their heads I told the major labels they needed to watch their backs, I was told I was a 'Geek' and dismissed.
When I scheduled a meeting with the head of Pulse! magazine about going 'online' I was kicked out and called an opportunist.
I love Russ, but his staff was stuck in the 70's and killed the magic that was Tower Records.
