[No Spoilers]
I'm a huge fan of the first GotG. A couple of Dee Dee's co-workers came over on Sunday night to drink wine (them) and whisky (me) and watch it again. It really gets funnier with each viewing.
We made reservations for "D-Box" seats at the Hilltop Theater in Richmond. I hadn't seen a "D-Box" movie since "Mad Max: Fury Road" and thought GotG2 would be perfect. It's only $5 more so what the hell?
GotG2 continues the dry, irreverent humor (with a heavier dose of crude larfs). The FX were superb (especially Groot and Rocket) but the 3D was totally unecessary.
The music plays an even greater role, almost becoming a character itself.
There might of been a tad too much character development. Lots of touchy-feely bitch-and-moan sessions as the team mebers try and discover their inner selves, but it's made up for by the shooting and explosions.
The "D-Box" experience was not as good as "Fury Road". The seat rocked, rumbled and jolted but never enhanced the experience. One of our group was sensitive to the 3D and had to turn the settings of the seat down to alleviate motion sickness.
We all enjoyed it but agreed the first one was better.
