I watched White God on Netflix, an odd Hungarian film that premiered at Cannes last year to good reviews. The story: Lili loves Hagen. Hagen loves Lili. But they are separated. Lili looks for Hagen. Hagen gets captured and brainwashed to become an underground fighter by a brutal coach who drugs him, tortures him, and even sharpens his teeth with a grinder. Hagen escapes to get caught by the government and is scheduled for execution, but Hagen leads a rebellion, freeing 250 of his cellmates, and reigning terror and revenge on his former oppressors. Oh, and Hagen is a dog. That's actually the coolest part of the film, which is mostly predictable. Hagen is played by two dogs, Bode and Luke, and they are better actors than most humans. The dog scenes are amazing. They won this years' Palm Dog award, a special award for dogs there that has been going at Cannes since 2001. I wouldn't really recommend this film, not unless you are super into dog films.
