Okay, this happened on my Bay Trip but it's now been moved to gatherings so I don't know where to post this story.
A mutual friend of my mom's and DM's mom has now decided that it would be a good idea to come over to the Saratoga castle and take things while they are gone. On several occasions my parents have returned home to find this woman in the house. So, after decades of not doing it, my parents are now locking the front door. Damn.
This causes a tremendous problem in my world view. Whenever my mother has complained about stuff being stolen in the past (Book tapes,anyone?) I have just put it down to my mother's paranoia. Actual theft throws that all out of whack. I'm very disappointed that I can no longer dismiss my mother's theft claims out of hand. Curse you, LW!
