ULTRAMAN
#19
I went in for an interview at Strategic Simulations wearing a stegosaurus tie. The manager said that I must like dinosaurs. I told him that I remembered reading a book in grade school called, The Shy Stegasaurus of Cricket Creek, and for some reason it made an impression on me. The manager remembered reading it too.

So I worked on a few D&D games. One was called Pools of Darkness. Central to the game, the player has to travel through different parts of Moandor's body. I wrote and coded a few of the modules, including Moandor's Heart, which is considered the hardest module. I even coded a lub and dub mechanism in so that if you're in a ventricle or in an artery when dub occurs, you get flushed out and have to start over. The trick is to slip into muscle tissue when dub occurs.

I just did a search and am completely blown away by the fact that people still seem to be playing that game. There's a youtube walkthrough dated 2009 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W93Xd2bAbR8), and a message board discussion dated 2011 (https://bitomoander.runboard.com/t594) where someone posits the following:

Quote:Major League Stuck (Please Help)

I have been working on this one part on the game for over a year. It is in the Moander Realm - I have just defeated the golems and my weapons are magnetic - but I cannot seem to make it to the unguent at 7 on the map. Everytime I get close the heart beats and it sends me back to the beginning of the artery. If anyone out there could help me I would be forever appreciative!

Thank you for any help that you may be able to provide!

Who are these people still playing such ancient and stilted games?
