It's the first only different. You don't get the end of the world chapters, but you do get more of the battles.

It had all the things I didn't like about the first about, only not as well done. More chapter intros that are immediately explained by the chapter itself. The book is divided into three parts and unfortunately, the characters I like from the first book don't show until the latter third so he can delve deeper into the new Robot baddy.

And about this AI who controls the robots and unleashes war on the meat sacks, it never comes off as all the intelligent. It keeps losing the battles. It does't put up much of a fight. Should we not fear these super-intelligent computers because ultimately we have the pluck to beat them?

It's all very medium.
