I bailed work early, hoping to get ahead of traffic. Total fail. Took me hours to get there. RM was camped at Skyline, a pleasant private campground that did Boy Scout events. I only planned to stay through Sat morn, but also failed at camp prep for three nights as my stuff was pretty shuffled from the move. Forgot tent stakes and a flashlight. Fortunately, I borrowed some. There was allegedly some sort of shuttle as much of staff was camped at Skyline, but I always managed to hitch a ride w/RM.
The venue is small with private homes right across the street. It was nice in that it was only a short stroll from one place to another. The days were warm and breezy. The nights were cold and windy. There were 3 major stages, one minor stage and an indoor stage for live comedy, a Whole Food presented eating area, and a lot of wine booths including a show special: wine pouches of Reverb Red and White Noise (neither sounded appealing). I only drank one glass of wine, a nice local cab from one of the vols who was a member of that winery. He told me all about it, but I wasn't really listening. RM had a tremendous beer cache (Anchor, Anchor CA lager, Stella, Shocktop) and not many beer drinkers so I stepped up to cover for those not drinking.
Night one was 5K attendees for Mackelmore. He was better than I had expected, but once his 3 hits were done, then what? At least I got to text T and brag as her whole class is into him.
Stayed up until 2:30 AM partying at the RM camp. That was a mistake, as it was a useless waste of time really, but some eager nooBs were eager to hear war stories.
More to come...
