My stories rule. I can talk about Hollywood and name drop with stories about Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and George Clooney. When I get into a story contest with old friends, I expect to dominate with my grade A-1 material.
Except when I sat down with Colonel Kasper. He got to use words like IED's, suicide alley, and Mosel circle where all the IED's are planted. Damn him and his stories about Special Ops and talking knowledgeably and knowingly about Stormin Norman Schwarzkopf. I haven't been bitch slapped in a story throw down in a long time.
And I picked up some tidbits. NATO stands for 'Not After Two O'clock'. And there are two types of Muslims, little M and Big M. I remember the difference was priceless, I just can't give you a description of it.
It's easy to think about the war as something that is just over there until you bump into someone you know who can recount horrifying first hand experiences. Kudos, Colonel.

So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
