i tried my hand at it. i put together a few pieces; they all got rejected. the thing about travel writing is that you start by selling to travel mags. they pay well but they are so ad driven that you can't say anything negative. you have to sell the destination. you can only write about the dark side of travel after you've built up a significant reputation as a travel writer that you can stand alone, publish on your own merits.
that being said, the shaolin trip FAIL tale has been done to death, especially on our ezine. nevertheless, greg - you should take your shot at it. there's one thing you have that's unique about your take on the trip. you're not a martial artist. that's fresh, at least for us. all the rest of us talk about our training at some point.
