Took my son to see it at the AMC Mercado in 3-D (Not IMAX 3-D, that sold out yesterday). This is the first 3-D movie I've seen where the 3-D wasn't a distraction. The CGI was spectacular. The story was ok, even if it cribbed off of Dances with Wolves and Ferngully. Like Titanic, there's some clichés in there, and some of the message is a little heavy handed, but in general, I would say that it's a pretty successful movie from end to end. It definitely needs to be seen on the big screen and for the first time, I'd recommend the 3-D. When the newness wears off, I'll try and go to an IMAX screening.

A big "boo" goes out to the Mercado for turning off the movie about 5 seconds into the credits. I guess they really wanted us to clear out of the theater...
