Um, sure. This was a film. They brought back some familiar faces. They did similar things. There were a few chuckles. Jenna Ortega continues to be sexualized beyond her years. A plot eventually kicked in about half way through the film giving motivation for the characters to finish the story.
It's on Max. You can watch it.

Christina wanted to rent this, so we watched it. Most of the plot is just showing where the characters are now. The dad couldn't appear because he's a pedophile IRL. It was a big mess, and not just the writing. Too many special effects, and none of the charm of the original. It's better forgotten.

I never liked the original, so I'm skipping both.

Typical Tim Burton.I enjoyed Ortega, Belluci, Dafoe & Devite hamming it up and am still amused by Burton’s vision of the afterlife. I like what Ryder has become (I confess to having a soft spot for her gothy ski vibe back in the day) and O’Hara is doing what she always does. Not sure about Greg’s comment about Ortega’s sexualization (she’s in her 20 and have you seen what she wears to galas?) but interesting about the pedo thing - didn’t think that was an issue here in the US given the prez, only for princes in the UK. Burton totally poached Belluci’s soul sucking effect from Tsui Hark’s A Chinese Ghost Story, which is almost what I watched last night instead but I didn’t want to deal with subtitles because I was cutting pills and didn’t want to divide my attention that much. My favorite scene was Belluci reassembling herself which reminded me of a live action take on O’Hara’s Sally in Nightmare lBefore Christmas. So Burton. He must have a scar fetish which I can totally relate to…
All in all, twas a good pre-Halloween background watch as I cut pills. My expectations were low so those were met. Seen on Netflix.
