S03 Ep01 Depression, but everyone else is in love. It is such an incremental show. Every season progresses one of the relationships just a hair more. It's also a chance for Gervais to air his pet peeves about society. In this case, cars not stopping for pedestrians waiting in crosswalks.

S03 Ep02 or Ep03 A really sad episode. Terry's potential girlfriend from the Old Folks Home really needs to dump him because he's a jerk. They swapped out a character without any acknowledgement the character is gone. Just here's the new girl.

S03Ep03
Gervais continues to delight in the uncomfortable. As an example, young naked man in the tub while older man sits on the toilet with his pants around his legs. Later on older man shows younger man the porn he shot of his wife having sex with another man at the wife's request. I feel they could cut those out. Can't wait for this to be done with. Only a couple more episodes.

The struggle is real. It just confirms my thoughts about Gervais. He likes rude humor. He likes to push boundaries. Conversely, he wrote, directed and starred in every episode. Which is quite the feat.
Yeah, don't watch.

Woohoo! I am done with After Life. We plowed through the final three episodes on Sunday night just to get it over with. More of the same. More awkward comedy. More of Tony not finding love but accepting that he doesn't want to commit suicide. More creepy people. The finale shows Tony sort of apologizing to all the people around him and doing good deeds. The show centers on a town carnival which is also a heavy handed metaphor for life. All the couples that have joined together during the show end up on the Merry Go Around. The Queen shed a few tears as Tony visits a child cancer ward. There's talk of angels among us and the gist is Tony should become an Angel.
The show ends with Tony walking off with his dog (who aged appreciably during the course of the show). The ghost of his dead wife joins him then vanishes. Then the dog vanishes. Then Tony vanishes and were left with a shot of the park with the trees in their autumn colors.

So I watched the first ep because Diane Morgan (who plays Philomena Cunk) is in it. And I was right to think this wasn’t my cuppa tea given Greg’s review. Gervais played a self centered self destructive widower is too much of a downer. I might skip forward for a few eps. I already saw a ‘best of’ reel of Morgan’s character’s quips on YouTube which will probably suffice.
The dog is cool though. Clearly it needs more exercise that what Gervais is doing. A dog that size would need more attention and more opportunities to poop. I guess we all need more opportunities to poop.
