Binged all 5 eps in one go. Stacy already did this went I fell asleep early the other night. She watched the first 3 eps again because she had slept through some bits during her binge.
We both enjoyed this. Eps are between a half hour and an hour so to binge them all is about the s as as watching one Bollywood flick.
Cox is good - quite different from his daredevil role - a dad who fills in the seat of MI6 ‘C’ (control, not M). Kurylenko plays a hawt Russian spy (as if she could ever play anything else after Quantum of Solace).
It’s a spy v spy tale where you trust no one. I had the main manipulator villain nailed from the start, but it was an entertaining journey to watch it unravel. Lots of preposterous spy stuff (more like why didn’t that agent have that exit route covered? than where did that gun come from?) but those are only distracting if you’re anal about such things, or if you watch it a second time according to Stacy. There is an incessant heartbeat soundtrack to build tension that gets annoying after ep 3 or so. But ep 5 is satisfyingly conclusive unlike The Recruit (according to Greg & cf).
Recommended for D00M fans of brit spy tales.
