Recorded during the great Free Thanksgiving Preview off Showtime.
No sword fights. No car chases. No gunplay. I think it might even have a PG rating. Not a single VFX. Weird, I know.
Brian Cranston plays Jerry and Annette Benning plays Marge, an old married couple. The movie starts with Jerry retiring after 42 years on the cereal line at Kellog's Cereal. His one and only job. He would have continued working but his cereal line has been discontinued. Now he doesn't know what to do with himself. Marge doesn't know what to do with him either. She's spent those years taking care of the house and the kids and waiting for that time for them to be together to go on adventures. But she doesn't know what those adventures should be.
Jerry might be slightly on the spectrum. But he is a math genius and looking at the rules for the lottery he notices a flaw in the lottery when they do a draw down. A flaw he feels he can exploit. Thus begins the adventure.
The story was kind of touching and schmaltzy, at times, but I enjoyed it. It had the feeling of a Black and White film from the 1950s.
Not even a little bit recommended for the Doom Brothers, but it is nice little film.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
