I was sure E13 would finally be the ep when Woo sees a real life dolphin. But no. It was a total cliffhanger. And I only wanted to watch one ep tonight while I was eating dinner. And this went inside an opulent Buddhist temple. And the Abbot of said temple is a great character.
Gotta get back to it. To the writing, I mean.

Dang I forgot the last ep was a cliffhanger. This was the breakup ep, which was played out well - some solid acting from all the cast - and the missed dolphin was salt in the wound. Ah rom-coms.
The icy tease for the next ep was some serious backstabbing. This show is loading up its emotional depth charges. Still cute.

E15: A bit of a lull, setting up the season finale which is next ep. That’s extended to an hour and a half. Some resolution of conflicts from the previous eps. This ep wasnt as sentimental as many of the others. But a lot of stuff is coming around like the head attorney chanting to Buddha score his stomach surgery. And a new critical character is introduced - Wok’s hacker half brother kid.

Season 1 finale was sweet, just as expected. Most of the story threads come to a satisfactory conclusion and there's ample space for the actors to show their astonishingly strong chops for K-TV. There's this thing about acting through that Korean stoicism, and only showing the emotions in the cracks. It can be overdone, but here it's just right.
Is there room for a season 2? Certainly. It was hugely successful in Korea and on Netflix. Plus there's a webtoon adaptation coming, as well as a musical remake, and a U.S. remake. Will I tune into any of that? Probably not. So much hinges on this cast and like La Casa de Papel (remade in Korean) and Midnight Diner (remade in Chinese), a remake just wouldn't satisfy.
