That was hell, boy.
I was very bored during this mishmash of a film. David Harbour of Stranger Things fame plays Hellboy. He's up against Nemu, the blood queen ( I know that's not the spelling but I can't be arsed to look it up) the witch. Nemu was originally killed by King Arthur and her body parts scattered to the four corners of Britain. Now, the Pig monster is putting the pieces back together to bring about the end of the world and get revenge on Hellboy.
David Harbour is poor as Hellboy. It looks like he didn't lose the weight he gained (or carries) for the Stranger Things Dad-bod. So, his ripped demon muscles looked odd on many occasions. The quips the screenwriters give him to say that are supposed to be hilarious, never are. His whole journey is torturous. One of the plots is why did his father, Ian McShane, not kill him when he was born. Their is also a tie-in to Arthurian legends
He also doesn't come across as some frightening powerful demon. Hellboy always seems overmatched. Which is bad because in every scene someone is trying to kill him.
There are echoes of Guillermo Del Torro's characters design ( or maybe more righty Mike Mignola) but it doesn't seem to have that otherworldliness to it.
Danile Day Kim steps in to play the head of the paranormal cops or whatever using a very strange british accent. He's also got some dark secret we aren't supposed to guess. I guessed in about a millisecond.
I was very sleepy during the climactic scenes which ended very anti-climactically. I longed for it to end. Lots of repetition. They showed us the death of Nimu in the beginning and then when they were going up against Nemu at the end, Kim tells us the entire story again.
So, hard pass on this one for me.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
