The Field (1990)
#1
Okay. I'm late to the game on this one.

It's the early 1920's Ireland. Poverty is still endemic. Richard Harris plays Bull, a tenant farmer. The widow who owns the titular field he rents, finally agrees to sell. But she doesn't want to sell it to him, she wants it to go auction. And there is a bad american around who will big against him.

No one is a good person in this film. Everyone has darkness in their past especially the Bull. It's a dark film that only gets worse as the story progresses. Sean Bean is in this one and his character stays true to all Sean Bean characters.

I was going to watch this preparation for my recent trip notably because my father used to hang out with Richard Harris's brother in a pub in Limerick. Plus, there is a tiny statue to Richard Harris in Limerick. None of this is germane to the review.

No sword fights. A couple of regular fights.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
