[Watched on Criterion, but also available on Kanopy.]
A Tunisian college student leaving a party gets raped and seeks help. But her plight is complicated by the fact that the perpetrators were policemen.
Brilliant. Told in something like eight chapters, each a flawless oner. High production values all around. The oners aren't action-packed, but crowded, with a lot goin on. A party. The hospital emergergency room. Various parts of the police station. Street scenes. Not easy to pull off.
But it's difficult to watch, because it shows the bureacratic nightmare she goes through. Getting attention at the hospital. Finding a doctor qualified to administer a rape test. Filing a rape report. And every time she seems to be making progress, she gets rerouted back to the police, who do everything in their power to convince her to go home, take a shower, and go to bed.
Recommended as an experience but you probably won't enjoy.
