Coffee Zombie Collective @ Moe’s Alley 6/18
#1
Our friend reserved a table so we actually went out to see live music in Moe’s Alley’s new “yard”. It was nice: a little gazebo for the band. Lots of 2, 4, and 6 tables. It was a sold out show, but wasn’t cramped. As an outside show, they start early (7pm) and hard stop at 9pm.

I was talking to a friend there and he asked me how I would describe CZC’s music. I said it was either ska/bluegrass, a one man band with a band.  Nate sings, plays uke, and plays the bass/snare with his feet. His wife is on banjo. They have an upright bass player, a guitar player and a horn player that also plays a shaker sometimes. They cover everything. I’m not sure they have any originals, but the audience eats up what they are serving. Nate has good charisma and interacts with the audience well. Lot of fun.

It was fun and I’m glad Moe’s is coming out the other side. I bought a venue tshirt just to help their effort.

After the show, we went back to our friend’s (who reserved the table) house. Played some pool, had some drinks and hung out. Nate and his wife are her neighbors, so she decided to invite them over and the took her up on it, so we hung out with them and a friend of theirs for a bit and then headed home.

A nice outing. I spent the day doing yard work at my mom’s and had to battle the beach traffic on the way back, so I was a bit tired, but I’m glad to be able to see a show again.

Cool tg. Been thinking about hitting a Moe’s show to support. Good to hear it felt safe.
