tQ has a big tie into the Mormons at this point because one of the podcasts she listens to is hosted by a former member of the LDS. And the podcast host is friends of the directors of this documentary.
In October 1985 two pipe bombs exploded killing two people. The next day another bomb went off severely wounding a third person. Murder Among the Mormons tells the story of what led up to the murders and the investigation that ensued. It's a multi-parter and we saw two episodes already.
At the center of the mystery are documents being sold to the church that call into question the origins of the founding of the church. There is a letter that talks about the white salamander. There is a copy of the first printed document in the new world. And finally there is a whole new cache of books and papers that are in the middle of being sold when the bombs go off.
You get to meet all the players in the world of rare document sales in Salt Lake City. I was amazed by how many there were. But I guess it's big business in that neck of the woods. From the way the story was presented, it was immediately clear who was going to be a problem in the story. tQ knew already because of the podcasts. The documentary is a mix of current interviews and news footage of the time. The disturbing thing for me was they showed the victims in situ in the bomb blasts. They showed another victim in the operating room. A bit too graphic for me.
I'll enjoy seeing how this all plays out.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
