Oh my god, they were entertaining for a change. No, I didn't give a 'f about who won or lost or maybe I did, but it was entertaining to watch the people. Conan had a great song about NBC being in trouble and the opening was equally funny.
However best line of the night goes to Hellen Mirren who had the clarity of mind to say "I almost went ass over tit in these shoes". Ah, the clarity of old British People. Got to love them.

...was a toss up between Tony Shaloub (talking about what an honor it was "to be nominated with four other losers- er -actor- er comic er whatevers," and the "my Name is Earl" writer or director -- the guy who didn't bother gushing out any thank you's to anyone, but spent his time specifically pointing out the three people he did not thank, including one particular teacher, an ex-boss and God (" I'm sure you had something to do with this but you took my hair, and that ain't cool, man.")
Stephen Colbert losing to Barry Manilow was a travesty. Stephen Colbert being in the same category as Barry Manilow is a travesty.
Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

You've set my mind at ease. I almost thought I might have missed something. Then you let me know that - somehow - Stephen Colbert wound up in some category that included Barry Manilow.
So now I know I didn't miss anything but my own moment of rage.
