Early b&w Hitchcock. Terrorist arsonists burn down an airplane production plant in WWII and Robert Cumming takes the blame, so he's the fugitive. It's got horrible dialog, exposition not interaction, with lots of patriotic overtones and lectures on what it means to be a good American. Odd to see this now. Terribly campy and obvious in its story arc strokes, but some brilliant cinematography, and classic tension-building dynamics - Hitchcock in the raw. And of course, this has that spectacular finale on the Statue of Liberty.
