Glass
#1
The third chapter in the Unbreakable series brings M. Night Shyamalan back to form, which is mediocre. I really liked the original film and have long hoped for a sequel. But after years of watching crappy Night films, I stopped wanting it all that much. But Split brought me back. Split was a good film. James Macavoy did a superb job. And I still want to know if his physique was his or was it CGI.

So, I had hopes that Glass would bring satisfying closure to the super hero saga. It doesn't. Very little happens. Right from the beginning I knew something was wonky about Sarah Paulsen and looked to her for the fatal twist. But of course there was a twist on that.

Most of the film takes place in a mental institution with everyone locked in their rooms. Now this could make a for a dynamic story but not here. The job for Paulsen is to convince everyone they don't have super powers. It's all just a mental aberration. So, that was dull as dishwater. Towards the end the villains team up to destroy a downtown skyscraper and they need Bruce to come out and defeat them. Yawn.

There are lots of meta reference to comic books to determine what kind of comic book are they in. Is it an annual? Is it an Origin story.

Wait for cable.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
