Pearl Jam
#1
They are streaming the new Pearl Jam album for free over at kroq.com. All I can think is, wasn't "10" a great album?

Although I do like the song "Fixer"

"10" was a great album. They should have all killed themselves right after it was released. Or Vetter should have.

I found out relatively recently (and way too late to be useful) that Vetter (born Eddie Mueller) grew up not far from me in Morton Grove, IL.

Who am I to talk, but it's spelled Vedder. Unless of course you did grow up near a fellow named Eddie Vetter as well.

My G-d, I made a spelling error? Don't tell my court reporting and scoping pals, I'll lose all credibility.

Nonsense; Mr. and Mrs. Vetter made the mistake of not changing their name to the correct spelling. You are perfect.

Would some one explain Pearl Jam for me. For years they fought against corporate rock and refused to do videos because it sullied them somehow. Now, they don't have a record label and are selling their album by themselves. What do they do? They make a video. Where are they going to sell the album? Exclusively at Target. They have even gone so far as to do a Target version of their video for the Fixer and put the Target bullseye logo in the video. Is it hypocrisy I smell? Or should I, like Pearl Jam, just stop caring and going listen to "10"?

After Pearl Jam's drummer gets Covid, an 18-year-old steps on stage to fill in
Mark Frauenfelder

11:58 am Mon  May 16, 2022

When 18-year-old drummer Kai Neukermans of Mill Valley, California heard that Pearl Jam's drummer Matt Cameron had Covid, he offered to play with the band at the Oakland Arena on Friday night. The band's manager asked for an audition tape, which Kai recorded and sent. The next day while Kai was at school, he received a text message letting him know he got the gig.

From People:

Quote:Neukermans' friends and family reportedly encouraged the young drummer to offer himself up as a replacement for Cameron after the veteran musician tested positive for the coronavirus.
Giving his best shot to secure the spot, Neukermans sent a text to Vedder's daughter Olivia Vedder, whom he met at Ohana Fest in 2018. Olivia responded and told Neukermans she would ask her dad about his proposal.
The next day while at school, he received a response from the band, who requested him to submit a video of himself drumming. Within an hour of submitting the clip, he was contacted by a manager who then asked him to show up at the stadium for rehearsal.
