Last show of the season. We have 2 docs on our JM squad of 5 plus 6 EMSlugs.
1300 sold so just half the house.

Cassandra Coleman opened. A beautiful soulful vocalist backed by 2 guitarists, one with a foot pedal array that allowed him to set a drum beat and widen the sound. It was very pleasant.

Turns out I knew a few Young the Giant songs. They’ve been going for 15 years but we’re too talky between songs. The epitome of indie rock. Their latest album, In the Open, is acoustic. This was their 2nd performance of it and all their concerts are planned for beautiful open spaces. They did a tight 90 set that ended around 9:30. We were done by 10 and ended up chatting in the parking lot because it felt too early to go home.

We had one patient, a drunk dad that fell on his son when he stumbled down the stairs. Our new doc Anastasia saw it (it came right after she said it was quiet and we chastised her for jinxing us). After checked over the kid, we advised the family to take him to the ER, which they did. The funny thing was that slugs jumped on the call and I said I’d stay and watch the tent, which is where Anastasia brought the family. So I called the slugs back. When they returned, they found that we had it covered. JAH med rules.

I was a great season and the staff, the general manager, and the Blue Note rep were all impressed with our work. It’s looking good for next year.

I love the Quarry. I feel at home there.

Excellent. I was just listening to an older Young the Giant song during my workout.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
