The documentary about Susan Oliver, most remembered as Vina in the pilot for Star Trek, thus the title. Her Orion slave girl Vina image was the final still for many of the ST: TOS end credits.
Impressive. Oliver delivered a massive body of work, so many classic TV roles, plus she was an early female director and a record-setting pilot. I never knew. Never put her career all together. The doc is long-winded. It has too many talking heads, many saying redundant points. Where it shines is the clips - Oliver appearing in every show you can imagine, so many of my favorites, alongside a stellar line-up of co-stars. She's stunningly beautiful, and the doc goes to great lengths to showcases her intelligence and what a maverick she was despite constant chauvinistic oppression from Hollywood. She was a tragic talent, and clearly deserved better. I see her in a completely new light. A true artist on many levels.
