Straight up kids horror film directed by Eli Roth of Saw fame. It was definitely aimed at the younger set, so it didn't really move me.
Jack Black seemed to ramp down his outrageousness. Cate Blanchett was made to look old which I don't approve. The young center of the film was just annoying after awhile.
But it did have some great production design and a few funny characters most notably a chair and a topiary.
Maybe if any of us had kids in the under 14 set this might be worthwhile.
