RIP Dickey Betts - King Bob - 04-29-2024 I thought DM would post this, but oddly did not. Betts was a guitarist and songwriter for the Allman Brothers. He wrote "Ramblin' Man," "Blue Sky" and the instrumental "Jessica." I didn't know that the group apparently fired him in 2000. I kind of wish I had seen the Allman Brothers but never did. DM? I know they were kind of on again, off again, and don't think I ever remember hearing about any shows. RE: RIP Dickey Betts - Drunk Monk - 04-29-2024 While I respect them, they were never my sound. I did work them at Shoreline back in the late 80s but that was during some of my heaviest RM years and they don’t stand out in my memory at all beyond being there. RE: RIP Dickey Betts - King Bob - 04-30-2024 I wanted Number Nine to do Ramblin' Man, but Ramon was dead set against it. |
