Watched the first ep. It’s ok, a lot like any South American drug cartel tale, only this is a tour de force for Sophia. She’s made up to look less glamorous - her nose is widened and she’s thicc - her accent is toned down too. I like when she goes off on someone, like beating down a punk with a bat. So far, she’s carrying it off well. She’s talented but pigeon-holed in Hollywood as the Latina bimbo (bimba?) so she seldom gets a part like this.
The Miami coke scene is overblown (no pun intended). The way dealers just dive into sampling coke is so imprudent - these guys are shooting each other down in cold blood so what’s to stop them from lacing blow?
The ultravi is ok. I liked the machete bit. Not sure how true this is to the real story but I don’t really care. I’ll probably watch a few more. 6 eps, each under an hour.
Not D00M recommended… yet.
