Crimes of the Future (2022) by Cronenberg - cranefly - 02-26-2023 A total misfire from Cronenberg, despite getting an 80% from Rotten Tomatoes. Viggo's worst role ever. You see, he grows organs. Sometimes with no obvious function. For performance art, his significant other operates on him, removing the organs. Spectators get all hot and bothered by the action. One could say that organ removal gives them orgasms. Some actual normal sex and nudity get worked into this, as an attempt to salvage it. I wonder if this was done at the studio's prodding. Viggo is hooded and caped throughout, trying to stay warm, and he is always clearing his throat--because his body is under a load, you see? Because it's developing these extra organs. So. Is Cronenberg done? Or did he just have a major misfire? Or am I an unreliable narrator, and you should trust in a rotten tomato? RE: Crimes of the Future (2022) by Cronenberg - Greg - 02-26-2023 Upon hearing the description of this movie before it came out, I had no desire to see it. Thanks for the confirmation. RE: Crimes of the Future (2022) by Cronenberg - Drunk Monk - 02-26-2023 From the beginning Cronenberg has been fascinated by organs. A fetish? Or a style? I’d watch this if it wasn’t Viggo as the lead. I’d watch it if it was Kevin Hart.
