White House Correspondents' Dinner - Greg - 05-01-2022 Ah, a slice of normality where the press are lionized instead of demonized for political points. The President did a fine job for his bits although he will never be a good speaker. I guess if you are the President you have access to the best gag writers in the world. But he did throw in some heartfelt moments as well. Biden, I thought, had the best statement of the night when he mentioned that all the Fox Anchors were there and they had all been vaccinated and boosted. Trevor Noah did a really good job. His jokes were scathing and there were a lot of awkward faces when the cameras would turn to those being skewered. He made a lot of jokes about DeSantis as if DeSantis was in the room but I don't think he was. He attacked everyone and it was quite fun to watch. It's always fun to watch things on C-Span because C-Span doesn't have HD figured out yet. RE: White House Correspondents' Dinner - Drunk Monk - 05-01-2022 Trevor’s monologue seen. Luv him. So witty, sharp, and perceptive. He walked the razor’s edge with some of those jokes. RE: White House Correspondents' Dinner - Greg - 05-02-2022 Yeah. His jokes per minute was very high. People were falling down dead before they even knew they'd been skewered. |
