No Sudden Move (2021) - Greg - 07-05-2021 Steven Soderbergh has made another heist drama. This one is set in Detroit in the 1940s. It starts with a kidnapping and ends in fancy boardroom. Every eats and smokes and drinks. There are lots of double crosses. The cast is really good starring Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Torro along with a cast of familiar Soderbergh faces. the only problem is it's dull. They sit around and talk a lot about what they want to do or what they have done. I think David Harbour shows any emotion and has probably one of the funniest fight scenes ever. I think the whole movie was made so they could have the environmental message at the end. RE: No Sudden Move (2021) - thatguy - 07-06-2021 I don't know if it was my TV or not, but it seemed like it was excessive use of a very wide-angle lens. It was interesting when it followed Don Cheadle and panned across a warehouse exterior scene, with the scene-left and scene-right bending in and out of view, but for the rest of the movie, it was really conspicuous. Perhaps the explanation was an elusive fish... It was a nice looking film. It was pretty dull. I called some of the double-crosses right before they happened. Music was produced by David Holmes who did the music for Killing Eve. I might go back and give the soundtrack a second listen. --tg |
