Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Drunk Monk - 09-25-2020 An aussie murder mystery period flick with a sassy heroine with a sweet gilded garter revolver. We guessed the butler right away. Okay, that's a spoiler, sorry. Well sort of. If you bother to watch this, it's rather obvious. It has its moments, but mostly felt like a dated Indiana Jones rip off without all the crazy adventure. There was adventure, but just not very crazy. It didn't really work for me. HP1 - Professor Sprout. There is a fencing scene and it's one of those 'could you have at least taken one fencing lesson before shooting that?' bouts - one where Miss Fisher couldn't quite put her mask on properly at first with the chin outside where it should rest, and then it quickly degrades to sliding down bannisters and other such swashbuckling. Silly fencing. But they did wear knickers. Not DOOM recommended. RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-25-2020 The TV series is charming and Australian RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Drunk Monk - 09-25-2020 Yes, this is a movie installment from the TV series. I imagine that plays out better because I would've enjoyed this more as a TV movie instead of a movie movie. If you're into the TV show, I recant my 'not' recommendation and shift it to recommended. RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-26-2020 Not in a big way, but as I said, they are charming and light-weight (the opposite of myself) RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Drunk Monk - 09-26-2020 Charming and lightweight indeed. That little garter revolver was super charming and lightweight. Maybe you should watch this. But if you do, the crappy fencing scene might put you off the charming lightweight Miss Fisher. You can see the bannister slide in the trailer: See now, if there really was bannister sliding in fencing, I'd happily knicker up again. RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Greg - 09-26-2020 Is that our new rallying cry? Knicker up, boys, we're heading into Dodge. RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 09-27-2020 It’s a good rallying cry. Time to knicker up, boys! RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Greg - 09-27-2020 This can only mean one thing: T-Shirts. RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Drunk Monk - 09-27-2020 NORICH RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - King Bob - 09-28-2020 This was disappointing. The show was enjoyable, but this was particularly weak because it lacked the supporting characters. RE: Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (2020) - Drunk Monk - 09-28-2020 I guess I should watch the show. Where did you guys watch this?
