Venice: The official Doom Foreign Capital - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-22-2006

So, three of the brothers have visited Venice. Some, more than once. I vote Venice as Doom's official European capital. It's got water and no cars. The place is all screwed up. It's perfect.

- El Dingo - 09-23-2006

I haven't been there yet but I'm voting for Barcelona.

Venice seems kinda wimpy and I have no desire to go there.

Or maybe I'm terrified of the place after watching 'Don't Look Now'.

Anyway we're planning a Spain/Portugal trip soon so I'll have to get back to you.

I can't vote for a place famous for window blinds and guys that dress like this:

Too bad there wasn't a link - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-23-2006

Ah, Barcelona. We should have spent a week there. Despite having to pay the gullible tourist tax.

For your Barcelona edification:

If you haven't been to Venice, you can't compare, bad movies or not.

DM has never been to Europe - Drunk Monk - 09-27-2006

And the rest of DOOM has never been to all the places in Asia that DM has. Well, CF has been to China with DM on two occassions, but we're ignoring his travel for a spell out of jealousy about his upcoming trip.

This foreign DOOM capital concept is unfair to DMs.

When was the Forum supposed to be Fair - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-27-2006

And you have to lead all the time why? where is CF going that we should be so jealous. Maybe you shouldn't talk as I am still seething over the surprise Yeti trip.

I'll let CF tell you.... - Drunk Monk - 09-27-2006

Where is PPFY going? I missed that surprise. Me, I'm staying here. Yup. Good ol' Fremont. That's where I'm staying. Yeah. Fremont. I'm not going anywhere soon. Fremont. Crybaby

The Yeti has been - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-28-2006

The surprise was on me. He went to Venice, Verona, Amsterdam and London, that bastard. Ah, jelousy, my only friend. I should have gone. Grrrr.

Venice is still our Doom European capital. You can have an asian capital. But in that category, I'm picking Istanbul.

Not me - Haggis Killer - 09-30-2006

Of course, I haven't been to nearly the cities you or DM have, but I gotta vote my conscience.

Tokyo.

Tokyo? - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-30-2006

And what country in Europe is that in exactly? I was never very strong on geography.(And typing, I know)

Late there? - Haggis Killer - 09-30-2006

Asian capital, fer chrissake...

I say Amsterdam - Drunk Monk - 10-01-2006

Never been there, but I'm guessing that more DOOM members have gone there than Verona. I'm just guessing...just hoping...

I have to say Shaolin for an Asian capital. You guys would love that place. I know you would.

- Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-08-2006

Gibralter or Malta. Some "Island Fortress". Or a secret hidden-in-a-volcano place. Yeah. Volcanos rule!

Barcelona is out; they lisp. Toledo has a bunch of swords, however, and Rick Steves likes it...

- Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-12-2006

Tokyo keeps getting destroyed by giant fire-breathing lizards and hordes of demons and that Akira kid. No thanks.

Hah! - Haggis Killer - 10-13-2006

Oh, and like San Francisco is so all that and a slice of toast. How many times has it slid into the ocean and created beachfront property in Reno, hmmmm?

See? Not so different.

- Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-15-2006

Yeah, but we only been attacked by a SIX-legged giant octopus. Not hordes of demons, a buncha giant radioactive dino-lizards and that Akira kid, who is pretty creepy. Shaolin and Amsterdam work for me.

PPFY,
ZY
