Vanity Fair - King Bob - 01-31-2019 Seven part mini series from Thackery's book (which I have not read, nor have I seen the movie with Reese Witherspoon from 2004). Michael Palin turns up to introduce each episode, playing the part of the author. I enjoyed this a lot; many of the characters are schemers and we see their fortunes rise and fall. Some things seemed to happen abruptly, and at least one character wasn't well introduced, but I guess that can easily happen with 800+ pages of source material. Surprised to see Giles from Buffy. Olivia Cooke, whom I have not seen before, is charming as the main character, a poor girl trying pretty much anything to better her lot. Note to DM: HP score=1 (Madame Maxime). RE: Vanity Fair - Drunk Monk - 01-31-2019 That would be SIR Michael Palin. http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=728&pid=31225#pid31225 |
