One of the 4 Chrises plays Robert the Bruce in the fight to unite Scotland. They started off all arty with a ten minute tracking shot (I think. I realized late and couldn't say 100% if there were no cuts) and it just got to be wearying. Fortunately, they went to straight editing after that.
It felt really long and ponderous. It took a long time to get to any action scenes. And during the action scenes there was plenty of ultra-vi to go around. But it's hard for me to see horse in these battle scenes. Sure, kill the men. But spare the horses.
There were plenty of shoutouts to William Wallace and I guess if you need to see a film about reuniting Scotland, you might as well watch the anti-semite's Braveheart.
