From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Drunk Monk - 11-25-2018 The arthouse set exalt Tarantino for his take on the grindhouse genre, but Rodriguez is far more genuine. And this film remains one of Tarantino's best performances. This movie is a masterpiece on so many levels. First, for me, it's refreshing to see a young Danny. The cast alone - Keitel, Hayek, Lewis, Cheech, Savini, muthafeckin John 'Rope' Saxon, oh and Clooney too. So DOOM. So ultravi. Good to the last drop. RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - cranefly - 11-28-2018 Revisited this on your prod. Amazing how little I remember of it. "Have I seen this movie?" I kept asking myself in the early goings. Well, yes, I have. There's one scene that sticks in my mind, and I'll give you a million dollars if you can guess what it is. On second thought, I withdraw that bet. You just might get lucky and hit it. Yeah, it took a moment to recognize the young Trejo. While he's not one of the main chars, he's still got a substantial part, and has a pivotal role in two or three scenes. I started this expecting Clooney and Tarantino to appear with crossbows in hand, ready to kill vampires. Am I confusing that vision with another movie? Anyway, yes, I had forgotten that those two can actually act, that they have a range. Juliette Lewis is always a treasure to watch, underrated in my opinion. And Salma -- well, she's like salmonella to a hypochondriac. Just what the doctor ordered. Okay, I'm off the rails... I'm guessing it's this one: ![]() Honestly, that's all I remembered. It struck me as really funny that they were trying to get to EL REY. I totally forgot that. And I feel ya on the "have I seen this movie?" memory blanks. There were a lot of scenes that seemed really fresh. Except for this one: ![]() Weird how memory works, huh? Salma has got to be a vampire in real life. It's the only explanation. She doesn't age. I got so close to her once - in 2011 for the premiere of Puss in Boots: ![]() Not close enough to get her digits and include her in DM's celebrity circle. But she's an immortal vampiress. I got time. Here she is with Antonio, wishing she could ditch him for a hunky DM, but she had her work obligations. Look how longingly she's looking at DM.

It's all I have to relieve the suffering. RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Greg - 11-28-2018 Suffering? How can you be suffering? Don't you sit at the center of the DM celebrity wheel, which has at least two spokes? RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Drunk Monk - 11-28-2018 Without Salma, DM's celeb circle remains incomplete. I bet she likes cheese whiz.

But blending movies together is nonetheless a good idea on your part, as it means fewer movies you have to remember. ![]() We now return you to your regularly scheduled DM obsession... RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Greg - 11-28-2018 I'm confused. When did you switch from blondes? RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Drunk Monk - 11-28-2018 I got less selective in my 40s. Didn't we all?
RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 11-29-2018 Her movie “Everly” can be the new “Die Hard” christmas movie. I recommend it. RE: From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) - Drunk Monk - 12-07-2018 We discussed Everly http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=3986 i gave it a thumbs up. cf thought it lacked plot (wth?) now, with your vote IY, Everly is winning. This calls for a Salma gif
