Watership Down and Plague Dogs affected my youth reading dramatically. Both books were totally captivating. Both films were haunting.

Holy crap! This fell under the radar! I read "Watership Down" 3 - 4 times. I loved "Shardilk" but never read "The Plague Days" like this journalist ( https://www.yahoo.com/news/watership-down-author-richard-adams-014535684.html ).
Honestly, the line "When they catch you, they will kill you, but first they must catch you" ruled my life.
