Meh. Sadly, I bought this book, too. But only for a penny.
It's a mash-up. It's the cross between fantasy and super hero story. A young student mage uses his powers to fight crime to avenge his murdered parents.
Young Veranix Calbert wages war against drug kingpin Willem Fenmere who pushes some weird drug on the streets of Dentonhill. It's all about boy street gangs and bad magicians and university prefects.
It all seemed very familiar and not very well written. The characters were no deeper than the pages they were written on.
Good thing it's a series.
