Badass Bunny - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-28-2013

How offended are you by that name?

Re: Badass Bunny - El Dingo - 04-29-2013

It doesn't offend me but it's not the most professional sounding moniker.

How about 'Steel Scrotum Productions'?

Re: Badass Bunny - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-29-2013

Not offended, just disappointed that it is not fronted by an ass-kicking Playboy Bunny. In other words, it is a chick name.

I love that name - Drunk Monk - 04-29-2013

I imagine some people don't like ASS. They are wrong. ASS is great. ASS sums it all up. Keep the ASS.

:butthead:

Re: Badass Bunny - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-30-2013

DM is an ASS man...

i deny that - Drunk Monk - 05-01-2013

i am not an ASS man. i just have a lot of friends who are ASS men, and i like to support them.

Re: Badass Bunny - cranefly - 05-07-2013

Been meaning to weigh in on this.

I like Badass Bunny.

I like "Badass" because it reminds me of the surprisingly good 2003 movie Baadasssss! starring Mario Van Peebles, who plays his own father Melvin Van Peebles trying to make the movie Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song (which I haven't seen, but suspect I'd admire). There's all kinds of recursion going on in Baadassss! because Mario himself appears in the movie as a teenage boy (played by a boy actor). Anyway, it showed the incredible difficulties and sacrifice that go into making a movie. So Badass conjures up a sense of stubborn determination to pursue one's dream no matter the obstacles.

I like "Bunny" because it reminds me of The Brown Bunny, a movie that brought out the worst, and best, in Roger Ebert. Ebert hated the movie. He loathed it with his every pore. Vincent Gallo, who directed and starred in the movie, took offense. You've probably all read of their exchanges elsewhere, and how Gallo eventually re-edited and shortened the film and Ebert watched it and said it was now a better movie. Anyway, Bunny conjures up a sense of stubborn determination to pursue one's dreams no matter what people might think of the result. Dare to be different! Dare to be bad!

By the way, I saw the re-edited version of the The Brown Bunny -- and absolutely loathed it. But I respect Vincent Gallo for being true to his fucked-up self.

Anyway, hopefully this provides some insight into why I think Badass Bunny is a good name.

Just so you know.

Re: Badass Bunny - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 05-08-2013

I continue to get ask to change it.

Re: Badass Bunny - cranefly - 05-08-2013

Sticking with my two inspirations, I suppose you could change your business name to Brown Sweetback, or The Brown Song.
But those conjure up some pretty weird stuff.

Or maybe Bad-Ellipsis Bunny? Sort of an edit in place.

In my twenties I worked in a small-town print shop as a linotype operator. Every month I would have to type up The Silver Lining, this religious magazine. Actually, I just did a search, and lo and behold it still exists. Here's the link for downloadable issues if you're interested: http://www.acpublications.org/Materials.asp?cat=Y&G=702&GN=Silver%20Lining%20Issues.

Anyway, the man who ran the magazine was devoutly religious. I mean, hardcore. He ran a grocery store in town, and every time they stocked the shelves with new produce, he would go through with a black marker and mark out anything that was bad. For instance, he would mark out Devil's on all boxes of Devil's Food Cake.

I really don't know how many people like that, or even remotely like that, you are likely to offend with badass. And I'm so far out there in accepting almost every kind of perversity that I'm not certain I should give any kind of advice on naming a business. But to me, badass is just badass. It is what it is.

A wrinkle - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 05-14-2013

One of the gentleman that the no-gate gatekeeper conferred with about the inappropriateness of the Badass name has reached out to me to request footage of his team's performance that I have in my possession.

Re: Badass Bunny - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 05-19-2013

The footage is free, but the transfer fee is $500.00

I learned it from HK.

A Fun email exchange - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 05-23-2013

Hey congratulations on your daughters graduation. Do you think I could get her to help translate some videos for me?

No. She's very busy with school right now.
