Sound City - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 02-03-2013

Dave Grohl of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters makes the case that a recording space and a piece of recording equipment was a large influence on popular music from the 1970's all the way until 2010. It was great hearing the early stories of some of the bands highlighted especially of how Buckingham-Nicks came to be part of Fleetwood Mac. Or how Nick Giraldo of Pat Benatar fame played guitar on Rick Springfield's biggest hit 'Jessie's Girl'

The story needed a few more of those types of tales. But I accept the fact that I am a sucker for behind the scenes stories. this is a really well made film and was worth the ten bucks I paid to download it. The songs at the end where they all got together back at Grohl's house where the Neve Deck now lives and made some music were a bit underwhelming. But I'm sure it was worth it for Grohl to get his chance to play with a Beatle. We all knew that, right? Not a spoiler.
